Unified Sports: Together for Inclusion! 🤝
With the valuable support of ESPN, our colleagues in Cyprus, Hope For Children and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), we successfully completed a series of Unified Sports events on a national level, promoting inclusion, collaboration and our shared determination to build a better world for everyone. 💙
Between 23–30 September, a total of 5 major events were held across Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca and Paralimni, bringing together:
🏃♀️ 150+ athletes and pupils
🌍 50+ refugees
🏫 13 schools, daycare centers and foundations
Participants had the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports and activities, including bowling, bocce, football, motor skills activities, basketball and more. 🏀⚽️🎳
Most importantly, these events created opportunities for people of different backgrounds and abilities to play, connect, cooperate and celebrate what unites us rather than what divides us.
We were also proud to activate refugee children within their schools, giving them the opportunity to participate in Unified Sports alongside their peers and experience the power of sport as a tool for belonging, friendship and social inclusion. ❤️
